Königssee – St. Bartholomew
St. Bartholomew, the emblem of Lake Königssee, can be reached by boat only. The world famous pilgrimage church, whose first components are dated back to the 12th century, is situated on an idyllic peninsula. Located right next to it is the former Jagdschlösschen (Hunting Castle), which functions today as a picturesque and charming inn.
In Schönau at Lake Königssee the legacy of the past is treated with great care. Already in the year of 1909 the Lake Königssee boat Ride was well advanced and environment-friendly. Until today electric motor boats carry the visitors across the lake. There are further curiosities: the sound of trumpets and cornets spreads to an imposing echo at the west side of the lake.
